Situated in Uttrakhand region, Kedarkantha Peak Trek has an easy level grade with a maximum altitude of 12,500 Ft and approximate 20kms Trekking. During winters this trail is capped with snow amidst long alpine trees. It is situated in Western Garhwal region of the Uttarakashi district, the Kedarkantha Trek is known for being one of the easy treks of the country which can be chaperoned by people who are inexperienced trekkers and have no knowledge of prior trekking.

In this summit, you will have the prettiest campsite locations available, the snow-capped 360 degrees of the Himalayas. The drive to Kedarkantha takes you through Mussoorie, Nowgaon, Purola and Mori before finally bringing you to Kotgaon.

Dehradoon, Uttrakhand
The taxi will depart from the Dehradoon Railway Station at 7 am. Requesting the trekkers to arrive half an hour prior.

*The contact details of the driver along with the registration number of the vehilcle will be shared one day prior to all the trekkers via mail and text message by the Devadars Team.
Please note that the transportation cost will be shared among the trekkers equally. The transportation sumtotal amount has to be given to the vehicle driver only.
Kedarkantha Trek will begin from Dehradoon. It is advisable to all the trekkers to reach Dehradoon Railway Station at 7 am. From there onwards, our journey commences.
From there all the trekkers will be taken to Sankri which is located at a distance of 220kms on the National Highway 123. A long drive accompanied by various varieties of flora and fauna enchants you throughout the way. Due to intense path, the journey to Sankri from Dehradoon will take approximately 7 – 8 hours. All the participants are expected to reach Sankri in the evening near about 5 pm.
The drive to Sankri is undoubtedly thrilling and the majority of distance sweeps you reach closed to Govind National Park which is famous for its avid collection of flora typical of this region and not found in any other location of the country.
Upon reaching Sankri there have to be some Hotel formalities needed to be done, after which you can all freshen up and enjoy yourself.
You can explore the local flea markets or can simply enjoy the scenic beauty of nature. The networks are quite nimble here so getting the phone lines can be a little difficult. Dinner can be arranged in the hotel or you can have it at the nearby Dhabas to experience the local flavours of regional cuisines. Overnight stay at the hotel.
The trekking will begin from Day 2. Today we will explore Juda-ka-Talab. After having an early breakfast at the hotel, the trekking trail kickstarts. Juda Ka Talab which is based at an altitude of 9100 feet and is a 4km trekking journey which will be covered in 5 hours straight. The journey begins by stepping out of Sankri village through a delay called Sor. Once the pavemented road disconnect, the rough trekking surface enters. Initially, you will climb through several bridges covered by dense forests and maple brown pine trees. The trail is broad and we can hear the rivulets chatting.
Remote villages and oak trees are a common view. While crunching the dried maple and oak leaves on the way up one can also view Himalayan Langoors can also be seen in today’s trail. Also, boars, martens, and hares can also be spotted in this region. After witnessing the perfect blend of nature we reach our destination – Jadu-ka-Talab.
Jadu-ka-Talab is one of the best high altitude lakes that comes mid-way Kedarkantha trek. The lake offers a mesmerizing Himalayan landscapes view. Overnight stay will be arranged in Tents.
As you awaken amid the Himalayas your journey to the next trial starts early morning. Today we will trek towards Kedarkantha base which is situated at an elevation of 11, 250 feet and will cover an approximate distance of 4 km in 3 hours with moderate or sem-moderate speed.
The warm breakfast will be served before the Trek commence. Today’s trek will also witness the dense forests of pine and oak trees. Many eye-catching shepherd huts will surpass in this trail. If it is near winter time, traces of snow can be found at an altitude of about 10,400 feet.
A long break of 40 minutes will be served amidst the trek. Snow-capped mountains gheraoed as we approached near to Kedarkantha Base comprising of Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Nag and Ranglana standing out proudly showcasing their beauty.
After reaching the base, the tents can be set up at any preferable location. However, it is advisable to be based in a close group rather than in a much-scattered way in the dark. The shining stars, cold breeze is going to be a constant. It is very necessary to keep all your woollens handy, especially in winters. Overnight sleep at the tent.
Today is the day when we ascend Kedarkantha Peak. The agenda of the day includes hiking to Kedarkantha peak and descend to Hargaon camp which is based at 8900 feet. The total journey comprises of 6kms altogether and takes about 7 hours in a moderate speed or semi-moderate speed.
The journey is long but it is worth doing. Your day will start with golden sunshine and ends with azure twilight. As we ascend towards our destination we can see the Kedarkantha peak much closer.
For those trekking for the first time, today’s trek towards the end can be a little strenuous. However, the view you will capture from the hill-top is a prize in itself. At the top of the peak, there is a beautiful yet small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. There is a small shrine of Lord Ganesh too. You can relax at the hill-top for some time and enjoy the mystic beauty of nature and then descend towards base camp by noontime. After reaching the camp lunch and refreshments will be served. Once relaxed, set out for descending furthermore to Hargaon camp. This time again, it’s a journey back through dense oak forests, pine and maple trees, shepherd huts and frozen streams to Horegaon campsite. On reaching the campsites set the tent which signals the end of another amusing day with dinner and overnight sleep at the tent. However, for the guitar lovers and chirpy birds bonfire can be arranged.
For today our target is to descend to Sanktri i.e. from 8900 feet to 6400 feet which will cover in approximately 6 km long trail takes about 4 hours or more at a moderate speed.
After having the breakfast, pack the belongings to descend furthermore through a more clearly marked well-paved pathway with a little rough surface. Winding through the dense pine forests one can view the sight of brooks flowing by slowly and firmly. Refill service can be done here.
A little further down the trail comes to a ridge from where it gives a splendid view of Har ki Dun Yalley often calleda as Valley of Gods in its blissful and harmonious view. Upon reaching the base, get back to the hotel and freshen up yourself and the get day for yourself. Dinner is provided at the hotel and one can have it some outside eatery as well. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 6 is the last of the Kedarkantha Peak Trek. All the participants will follow the same route back to Dehradoon.
The trek may end here but not the bond created with nature and Devadars!!
*The network will only be limited to Sankri. Thereafter the connectivity is very bleak. At times airtel catches the network, but again it is very dicey.
The best time to travel to Kedarkantha Peak Trek is around the year except for monsoon (July and August). More snow in the winter months (December to April).
Chopta Chandrashila Deoria Tal Trek has a moderate level of difficulty. Despite being of moderate level, it is essential to have a good physical fitness, due to weather conditions.
On an average – 4 to 7 Km; in 5-7 hours. The trekking is fairly easy.
If there is snow then there are likely high chances that the temprature may fall between 10 deg. to -8 deg. However, it is advisable to have all your woollens handy.
All Devadars treks are leaded by professional Trek leaders who has completed Basic and Advance mountaineering courses and are certified in first-aid course, along with one local guide, cook, helper, porter and other staff.
Normally, we take 10 to 15 people in a batch including males and females. We need minimum 5 to 6 people to run a fixed departure but for the customised trip group size doesn’t matter.
Securing our trekkers is of prime importance for us. We ensure your protection all the while during the trek. There would be our persons as well, joining the trek – such as Trek Guide, Cooks, and Helpers. So there you need not to worry.

Yes. However, the luggage carrying cost is not included in the package. For porter service, you have to pay extra. Also, if you think that you will be needing a porter, then it is highly advisable to inform 5 days prior before your trek commence.
There is no such hard & fast rule. For trekking – the footwear has to be good trekking shoes only. Floaters or sandals won’t be an option for trekking. Also, keep 5 pairs of warm socks with you.
There would be tasty and hygienic 3-times Veg. meal that all the trekkers will be availing. Apart from this there would be morning & evening tea – coffee provided. An energy bar will also be given to all the trekkers.
Yes non-veg. food is also available, but it would be charged extra. i.e., 500/head.
Bonfire is not a part of the package. However, it can be accustomed as an extra demand (Chargeable*).

No. Female trekkers will be accompanied in the tent with female trekkers only. The same is the case with male trekkers.
If cancellations are made 15 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of the total tour cost will be refunded to the original mode of payment.
If cancellations are made in the last 15 days in respect with the tour start date, 50% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities may be cancelled and in such cases, Devadars will provide you with a full amount Voucher, which can be avail on any Devadars Trek. However, no refund will be provided for the same.
